About Upward Bound

Our Story

Sharing a Clear Presentation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ

Upward Bound Ministries exists to minister to students and families in our community by making Christ known and helping them take steps toward a growing relationship with Him.

Each week, hundreds of students come through our doors and participate in programs designed specifically for their age and stage of life. Whether they are receiving a nugget from God’s Word, bowling with friends, sharing a meal, or connecting with a caring adult, our desire is for every student to know Christ, know they matter to us, and know they matter to God.

Our ministries include programs for elementary, middle school, high school, and homeschool students. While each program looks a little different, they all share the same purpose: to clearly present the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

We believe ministry happens through relationships. That’s why our staff and volunteers don’t simply run programs—we invest in students. We share God’s Word with them, pray with them and for them, encourage them through challenges, point them toward biblical truth, and seek to be a consistent presence in their lives.

More Than a Program

Upward Bound Ministries is about more than activities, bowling, or events. Those things help open the door, but Christ-centered relationships are at the heart of what we do.

Our goal is to come alongside students and their families as we invest in the next generation, helping young people understand how God created them, who He created them to be, and ultimately pointing them to the hope and new life found in Jesus Christ.

How We Support Students

A Bible in every hand

Every student who attends our program hears the Good News in a way that is understandable and impactful.

Fuel for the day

Breakfast is offered before school, and afternoon students are treated to snacks to recharge after the day.

Hang time

Students get to play and creatively explore though activities like bowling, 3D printing, fooseball, legos, art, and more.

Care and support

Our mission extends beyond the classroom, offering encouragement and assistance, both physically and spiritually, for students and their families.
